What is your favorite quote?

"Turns out not where but who you're with that really matters" - Dave Matthews

Tell us about a time you positively impacted someones else's life …
One of the great things about working in the post secondary environment is you can positively impact someone's life everyday. It truly is awe inspiring. So, having a student thank me, or express their gratitude in helping them navigate this time in their life is an honour and a privilege.

Tell us about a time someone positively impacted your life …

I think I'm lucky because I have people that positively impact me everyday. From my students, my staff, my co-workers, and my friends and family, I try and appreciate traits in others, and discover ways of improving myself and my outlook on life. The people I come into contact with everyday help me to do this.

What keeps you grounded?
My staff! They help to provide me with input, advice, and an expertise that helps me do my job better, and makes me a better person overall!

What do you love about Appreciative Advising?
I love AA because it is a practical, positive way to help students make change in their life and help to provide them a path. Being aware and intentional about your positivity affects all aspects of your life!

Describe the 2011 Appreciative Advising Institute in one sentence!
One word = inspiring! One sentence was it was an eye opening experience that allowed me to truly grasp the theory and concept of appreciative advising and the effect it can have on your work and your personal life!
